Theatrical Application: Tragic Beauty

Originally, when I started the first version of this piece I was inspired by the intimacy of appreciation and the importance of connection on human lives. After taking and editing my reference photos, painting with watercolor, topping with colored pencil and finishing with beading studies and incorporation to the final product, my school’s director commissioned me to create a wearable 3D sculpture that could be worn by “infected” actors in my school’s production of the play Dracula in a similar style to the 2D work.

The commissioned neck piece was meant act as veins as a tribute to the tragic beauty of horror and loss.
